Manufacture of Dairy Products

The client operates a large integrated milk processing plant, which had been the subject of repeated expansions on its original site. Chemical storage forms an important part of their sanitization systems. As a result of these expansions the licensing of chemical storages had not been kept up-to-date with current statutory requirements.

Richard Hall & Associates were engaged to carry out a survey of the site and identify and review all chemical storages against the Dangerous Goods Regulations. As a result of this survey, a site master plan was prepared. Specifications were prepared to upgrade individual storages to be compliant with requirements, and where necessary negotiations carried out on their behalf with WorkCover.

An application was prepared to carry out a major upgrade of their Dangerous Goods Licence reflecting 20 storage depots containing Class 2.1, 2.3, 3 and 8 Dangerous Goods. This was then submitted to WorkCover on their behalf.
